Jana began her dance training in the small town of Tilbury, Ontario. She continued on to achieve a BFA (hon) specialized in Dance from York University in Toronto. While in Toronto, Jana studied with the School of Toronto Dance Theatre, Kaeja d’Dance, and Ballet Creole. She also had 
the opportunity to tour with the York Dance Ensemble working with choreographers such as Holly Small, Darcey
 Callison, Alex Cilic, and Peter Chin.

Upon receiving her BFA, Jana relocated to Alberta and now calls Leduc home.  Since moving to Alberta in 2000, Jana has trained
 with a variety of instructors from Mile Zero, Vibe Tribe, Isis Dance and the Edmonton School of Ballet. She has
 choreographed and performed solo work, groups and musicals, choreographing parts of Sleeping Beauty with the Leduc Drama Society and and the Alberta Summer Games in Leduc.   Jana also spent 7 years with the Leduc Figure Skating Club as the Off-Ice Training Co-ordinator.

Jana is passionate about dance and full body integration, continuing to build on her training and knowledge. She has completed training in all 11 levels of the Junior Preparatory Ballet and Progressions Ballet Syllabi. Jana has studied in New York and maintains a Level 2 in the Bill Evans Technique of Contemporary Dance, which is based in Laban Theory and Bartenieff Fundamental Movement Patterns. Mentored under the guidance of dance icon William Evans and master instructors Don Halquist, Debra Knapp & Suzie Lundgren.

With the influence of such diverse instructors, Jana has experienced many genres of dance such as ballet, modern in the styles of Graham, Limon, Cunningham, Duncan, Horton, and Evans, tap, jazz, classical East Indian, hip-hop, ballroom, tribal belly dance and National dance.

Connectivity is excited to have Haley Myhre back this year instructing in our Hip Hop & Jazz Programs.  Haley has been assisting and teaching in the Edmonton and Sherwood Park areas for the past nine years. Haley has training in Ballet, Jazz and Lyrical & Hip Hop. Haley has also travelled various places for her training, participating in Disney’s Magic Parade as well as competing at World of Dance where she received a 3rd place standing.  Haley is a former Edmonton Eskimos Cheerleader and was part of the first Edmonton Eskimos “Esks Force Hype Team”.  Miss Haley is once again leading  our Connectivity Crew community performance team!  Haley is currently attending the U of A and continuing her passion for learning the art and various styles of Hip Hop.

Connectivity Dance is excited to have Miss Sarah back to our faculty for the 2020/21 dance season! Sarah has been dancing her way through life since the age of three.  She became a student teacher in her teen years and found joy in helping and teaching younger dancers. She is experienced in tap, jazz, lyrical, ballet, contemporary, and hip hop and has received many awards within each of those genres throughout her life. Notably, the Harbour Dance Centre scholarship, and the Rocky Mountain Dance Project scholarship. Also, Miss Sarah  has won 1st place with local professional hip hop group, NXG Company at World of Dance Edmonton in 2017. Sarah continues to strive for growth not only as a teacher but as a dancer as well.

Katie began training in Edmonton at the age of six. In 2018, Katie was awarded a Cecchetti Associate Certificate from Edmonton School of Ballet’s Teacher Training Program, as well as a Certificate in Pedagogical Studies and Dance Teaching from the Teacher Training Program at Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto. This training included advanced studies in a wide variety of styles including Cecchetti, RAD, and Vaganova ballet, as well as jazz, lyrical, and national dance. In addition to teaching, Katie is also the artistic director of Out of Body Physical Theatre, who work on multi media performances throughout the year.

Miss Hailey is a highly trained and versatile dancer. She has trained with various studios in Alberta including Sherwood Park School of Dance, Edmonton Dance Centre, Dance Soul and Camrose Academy of Dance. She has trained in Jazz, Tap, Ballet (RAD syllabus and Vaganova), Pointe, Modern, Lyrical, and Hip-Hop.

Competing has allowed Hailey to receive scholarships to GSP Dance Convention, Harbour Dance Centre, The Edge Performing Arts Centre, Broadway Dance Centre, Nuvo Dance Convention, Rocky Mountain Dance project, and many other high mark and cash awards. Dance has allowed Miss Hailey to travel throughout Canada, and the United States including training and performing in Vancouver, Los Angeles, Calgary, Portland, Seattle, New York, Kelowna, and Las Vegas.

Hailey has been teaching at the Camrose Academy of Dance for five years and her love of dance shows now through her students and their accomplishments. Some of these accomplishments include, Multiple Choreography, Outstanding, Most promising, 1st place award, Choreography the day awards, Overall Highmark Rountines awards. Her routines have also had the opportunity to be int he finals winning, First place in division finals Central Alberta Dance Festival, Division 1 Champion Standing Ovation + $500 cash prize, 1st place Champion Inferno Dance Festival finals + $300 cash prize.

Miss Hailey is very passionate about sharing her love of dance is excited to join the Connectivity team this season.

We are fortunate to have Miss Valleena back for another season as our Studio Apprentice and Junior Teacher.  Miss Valleena has been accepted to the National Ballet School Teacher Training program in Toronto for Fall of 2021! A bit of a postponed plan, but very lucky for our studio as we continue to support her goal toward teaching. A definite role model for our younger students as we watch her grow.

Deirdre took her first step into the dance world at age 4 and has been unstoppable ever since! Training all over Canada and the United States, her love for dance continues to grow and evolve.
Deirdre has trained in multiple styles including ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, acro, modern, contemporary,  and musical theatre. Her most recent training focus has been in more commercial styles, such as, jazz funk, heels, and hip-hop. She is currently training with Drea Lee Dance Company, under the direction of Drea Lee, and is heading into her second season as a dancer for the CEBL Edmonton Stingers. 
In 2012, Deirdre launched her journey towards dance instruction, as an assistant. During her time as an assistant, she gained many valuable tools that she was able to apply to her own classes, which she began teaching in 2017. She continues to develop her training as an educator, most recently through, the American Council on Exercise, Alixa Flexibility, and Broadway Dance Center. Deirdre remains inspired by all of her dancers and finds joy in igniting the love for dance inside all of her students.
Believing that as dancers, and human beings, we are always students, Deirdre is eager to share her knowledge of dance with others, while continuing to learn from those around her.
